Forlong is the backdrop for gathering, eating, storytelling and fellowship. 

God gives us a desire to rest in the beauty He creates. The longing we have for that place in our heart is at its essence a longing for eternity in Heaven when God creates the perfect place for each of us- our true, eternal home. He tells us He is creating that place as we speak. Yet, until we cross the threshold into eternity, and until God finishes His handiwork in the new Heaven and new Earth, we will always have that longing on this Earth. Jesus even prays “your kingdom come on Earth as it is in Heaven.” So we have desires here that align with His eternal pleasures.

Imagine a place, a land, that is the essence of God’s created natural beauty on this earth. Rolling hills, pastures, wooded places, water, high places and low places, rock outcroppings, places to build, places to grow, and places to graze. A place that can be enjoyed solely for its natural beauty, but can also be improved upon by the creative spirit that God has given each of us. It is a place for all to marvel in; to gaze upon; too long for (Forlong). A place that one can imagine the beauty of God’s eternal creation and say, “this is Heaven on Earth.”

Forlong is a place, a farm, and a respite - part retreat, part home. It is a place vast enough to explore His eternal pleasures and allow others to enjoy God’s creative beauty, and even work the land along side.
